Album Review: Kelly Rowland - Here I Am [Standard Edition]

"Kelly's Back!"
Just a month after her former Destiny's Child partner in crime Beyonce released her album, Kelly Rowland is back with her third studio album, "Here I Am" to be released the 26th. After failed "buzz singles" like 'Commander' & 'Rose Colored Glasses' Kelly finally stuck gold with her Hit Single 'Motivation' ft Weezy. The track hit #1 on the R&B chart twice and made it to the top 20 on the Hot 100. The cd features rappers Lil' Wayne, Lil' Playy, & Big Sean.

With her last album 'Ms Kelly' being released in 2007 and hitting #6 on the Hot 200 albums and #2 on the R&B albums will we see Ms Rowland achieve more success in a culture of Rihannas, GaGas and Beyonces'. Keep in mind Kelly has tore up the charts in Europe, however in her home country they have shown little love it kind of goes to show America doesn't have much music range! I'm Dat Chick
The cocky album opener hits hard while the singer sings about how she knows she knows she looks good and how the boys want to be with her. "who don't need a compliment because she knows" With a catchy hook and beat this one will have you singing along. In today's pop world this song is definitely single worthy!

The song that got the ball on her album rolling and got the album release pushed up. This sexy number has Kelly encouraging her partner not to stop and keep her going. The go to rapper Weezy features his verse and just adds a lil swag to the already hit

The official second single Lay It On Me features rising popular rapper Big Sean. The urban pop track is about a woman who cannot wait for her man to get off work and put it down on her. She lets him know that he can tell his friends that he’s riding solo for the night and going home with her. The single is a catchy track and with new rapper Big Sean. Hopefully listeners will respond good to the song!

Feelin Me Right Now
Here Kelly finds herself falling in love in the club with…herself. With a little play on words Kelly says there is only one person she sees tonight and which bed she’s going to lay in tonight. She continues about how she looks great, has her own money, and how she is not easily impressed. The whole time she is looking herself in the mirror.

In this dance cut Ms. Kelly is sitting there drinking, upset over a cheating lover. Kelly finds herself trying to drink until she is happy, while contemplating whether she should contact the other women and tell her a little about her ex. “I can tell her, I could tell her that you said you loved me/I can tell her that you're so unhappy/Instead I'm sipping till I'm empty”

All Of The Night ft. Rico Love
This track is one of the more slower tracks on the CD. The cut is in the same vein as ‘Motivation’. Kelly sings about how she wants to do it all over the house Kitchen, Hallway, everywhere to the music. With not too much just classic kissing and touching.

This other slow track of the album Has Kelly singing about a love that he does not want to be without and she will give up anything to keep it. She doesn't want each other to give their love to anyone else.

Commander
‘Commander’ was supposed to be the official lead single for the album. The song is produced by David Guetta and well in my opinion the song was a hot dance track and though the video wasn’t visually the best, the song was a solid song. With the US failing to pick up on it, forced Ms Kelly to rename the track a buzz single.

Down For Whatever
Down For Whatever is a club track produced by the WAV’s. Another classic Kelly dance track ha her telling her guy that she is down for whatever for him. She could even make love on the dance floor.
